Meet the multifaceted Rick Solano – philanthropist, wealthbuilder, motivational keynote speaker and seminar leader, self-help book author, founder of a major continuing education foundation and more. Solano is dedicated to sharing not only his money making secrets but also his strategies for living a better life. A newspaper editor wrote, “Rick Solano’s goal in life is to help others reach for the greater rewards that are beyond the material wealth.”
Discovering the Keys to Success
A native of Boston, Solano began working at age 12 and early in life discovered the importance of mentors and networking. He realized that the keys to personal and financial success are associations with older people who are financially and personally successful. The idea is to listen to these educators and role models. Apply what you learn. Always keep your mind open to the new. Establish clear goals and follow through. These basic tenets are the guiding principles of his successful, dynamic career, financial independence and a rich satisfying life.
Solano chose Bentley College for his formal education, receiving his Bachelor’s Degree, Magna Cum Laude, in Accounting and Finance and a Master’s in Taxation Degree from this institution. He is deeply appreciative of professors who introduced him to the stock market, investments and how to achieve financial independence during his college years. After graduation Solano became a Certified Public Accountant.
He first worked for Arthur Anderson & Co. and then joined the Internal Revenue Service. His experience includes periods as a supervisory IRS agent, a member of the U.S .Treasury International Strike Force, and a Chapter 11 Federal Bankruptcy Trustee.
Continuing Education and Resources for Professionals
Drawing on his experience in the business world and government services, Solano decided to expand his horizons. In 1977 he founded and still chairs the thriving Foundation for Continuing Education, a nonprofit organization created to promote professional development and training opportunities for corporate executives. Thousands of professionals have benefited from its seminars on taxes, estate planning, real estate appraisal, negotiation strategies and more. The Foundation is also a publisher of books, manuals and software on topics such as tax, legal, accounting, financial planning – all available through the nationally recognized Resource Library. Conference Center North of Boston
In 1983 Solano established the Boston Conference Center, set on eight quiet, wooded acres overlooking Pleasant Pond in Wenham, Massachusetts, and home to The Foundation for Continuing Education. Only 35 minutes north of Boston and easily accessible, the center hosts some of the state’s leading companies and organizations for corporate outings, functions, conferences, retreats and meetings. Fully equipped for business, board and meeting rooms vary in size; most spectacular is the open-air pavilion overlooking the pond. Recreational opportunities abound and a public golf is nearby. This tranquil setting provides a place to train, learn and team-build in an environment that clients describe as “spiritual, inviting and inspiring.”
When Rick Solano isn’t giving speeches and seminars and tending to conference center and foundation affairs, he enjoys playing basketball, reading and gourmet cooking.
